I'm having surgery on Tuesday to have my gallbladder removed. That's what the surgeon recommended. After doing a little research online, I found out that women are more prone to gallstones, also age, pregnancy! (due to estrogen hormone), and fast weight loss (crash diets).
Obviously the ones that ring a bell are the last two. I wish I knew exactly which one caused it though, could it have been both (pregnancy and losing weight)? I don't know. I mean, I lost weight about 4 years ago, and I noticed the rib pain (gallbladder stone symptom) just recently, about a month after I had my baby... so, who knows.
Either way, ladies beware!!!!!!! Be careful with those crash diets, seriously! Had I known starving myself could cause this I would have tried a different approach to losing weight :/
